Looks like the peace process that President Trump started is going very very well. From The Telegraph dated September 8th, 2018:
North and South Korean leaders to meet for third summit despite stalemate with US
Moon Jae-in, the South Korean president, will travel to Pyongyang on September 18 for a three-day summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, his top aides confirmed on Thursday.
The announcement followed the hand delivery of a letter from Mr Moon to Kim by Chung Eui-yong, South Korea’s national security advisor, and spy chief Suh Hoon, who visited the North Korean capital on Wednesday.
The summit, the third between the two leaders since April, and the first time a leader from the South has visited the North in more than a decade, comes despite a stalemate between Washington and Pyongyang over the progress of disarmament talks.
There has been no word about the reason for the 'stalemate' - betting that President Trump wants complete denuclearizeation and Kim wants to keep some capacity in reserve. But, the news is very good - from today's Reuters:
Two Koreas, U.N. forces agree to remove weapons at border
North and South Korea and the U.N. Command agreed on Monday to withdraw firearms and guard posts in the demilitarized zone village of Panmunjom this week, Seoul’s defense ministry said, the latest move in a fast-improving relationship.
The three sides held their second round of talks at Panmunjom to discuss ways to demilitarize the border in line with a recent inter-Korean pact reached at last month’s summit in Pyongyang.
The U.S.-led UNC, which has overseen affairs in the DMZ since the end of hostilities in the 1950-53 Korean War, was not immediately available for comment, but it said on Friday it supports the two Koreas’ efforts to implement their military deal.
Very cool! Shows what you can accomplish when you have real leadership.
