From the US Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Florida:

American Airlines Mechanic Pleads Guilty to Attempted Aircraft Destruction Charge
MIAMI -Ariana Fajardo Orshan, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida and George L. Piro, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Miami Field Office announced that Abdul-Majeed Marouf Ahmed Alani, 60, of Tracy, California pled guilty today before U.S. District Judge Marcia G. Cooke, to a single count indictment charging him with attempted destruction of an aircraft.

According to the court record, including the facts admitted at the change of plea hearing, on or about July 17, 2019, Alani, a mechanic then employed by American Airlines at Miami International Airport (MIA), tampered with the air data module (ADM) system of an aircraft that was scheduled to depart MIA for Nassau, Bahamas.

And some history of the moke - clickable headlines:

From the last link:

Abdul-Majeed Marouf Ahmed Alani was fired from Alaska Airlines, part of Alaska Air Group Inc. in 2008 after he helped install the wrong type of battery on an aircraft. Soon after, Alani, a native of Iraq, filed suit against Alaska claiming he was fired based on his national origin, according to court documents.

Alani's suit was unsuccessful as in the case's development it was found Alani committed four significant errors during his mechanic duties and was found to be clocked in for both Alaska and American Airlines Group Inc. at the same time during multiple occurrences.

Willfully damaging aircraft and clocked in twice. Just a peach. The ISIS connection is the frosting on the top. Makes me want to take an airplane ride.
