Steven Hawking abuse story - update
I did not blog about it when it first surfaced a few days ago because something did not ring true. There was a news story that someone was assaulting Steven Hawking and that it might be an instance of Münchhausen by Proxy.
In today's
News Telegraph:
bq. The scientist Stephen Hawking has rejected claims that he is the victim of abuse and dismissed media reports about his personal life as "completely false".
bq. The physicist, the Lucasian professor of mathematics at Cambridge University, said he was "profoundly disappointed" by the circulation of "inaccurate information".
bq. Detectives are speaking to nurses who have cared for Prof Hawking, 62, following allegations that he had been assaulted and abused. They also hope to speak to the scientist and his second wife Elaine, 53.
