im a soon to be marine, and have studied weapons all of my life. lemme tell you about the M82, or "Barett". it is a sniper weapon used primarily to destroy vehicles, electronic equipment in the United States Marine Corps, the Army Sof (special operations forces), and Navy SEALS, and if it comes within an inch of your arm, it'll take that puppy right off. only one man i know personally, who is a civilian, owns an M82. he is a gunsmith for law enforcement. "marv" the fuckin insane man that he is, did in fact have weapons in the vehicle, you can see them in the video..including the M82. i dont care who you are, if he ran over your house, and fired at you with a weaopn, that can quite abley fuck your life up, you would praise him. and to his neice...fuck you to you insane hoe!

You people are all insane. As I watched my life's worked destroyed by someone I have never met and ran from his gunfire - yes, he was shooting at PEOPLE, contrary to what you would like to belive - I realized that this guy was dangerously crazy. Had he not damaged and bent his guns during the assault, I could be dead right now. Had he not missaimed his 50cab due to poor planning of his "killdozer", as you call it, he would have blown up the senior assisted living center in Granby and not much else. I hate the government as much as any of you, but having faced an armored bulldozer and its weapons, I think that maybe I have a better perspective on the sitation. I have sat in the driver seat of the dozer. I have felt his anger. But give me a break, this gys last meal was Slimfast and seltzer water. I was THERE. I had his gun shot at me. He bent the gun while destroying my office. I didn't die. I never met him. He demolished the house of an 80 year old widow due to some old grudge against her deceased husband - deceased for a couple of years now. How would you like it if your mother was treated to having her house DEMOLISHED for a grudge that dates back many years against her husband who has been dead for several years. How would you like it if you lifes work was destroyed by someone you didn't even know. How can you people treat him as a hero? You should be ashamed of yourselves.

I have to say, the first time I read about this, I thought that this was indeed on of the classic terroristic "madman" cases. But in a little over an hour, I read about twenty different accounts, and I don't have nearly the same hate for him as I did after first reading. Now, I respect him as a hero. And I have to say that I wish I could weld like he did.

Remember Marvin Heemeyer, not only as a hero, but a brave veteran, standing up for his Constitutional Rights.

If there was a way to appeal crimes by justification, he would win. He would be able to justify what he did, and I respect him.

I knew Marv as a Friend, I have Snowmobiled with him on many occasions. Marv was an upstanding likable man. As he quoted " Sometime reasonable men are forced to do unreasonable things" ponder this for a second? Marv tried to fight for his business though the proper channels but the was always denied by local goverment, so in turn he was forced to do something unreasonable. Why did he do such an act, I bielive that Marv wanted attention to his problems with the town of Granby, and wanted a State/Federal investigation into the inter working of local goverment. I do not believe that Marv Killed himself! The liberal News Bullshit said that they heard one single shot as his Komatsu 355 came to rest ( not a Cat D9) but it took almost 16 hours to romove his body, BULLSHIT (booby traps) more BULLSHIT. I believe that them local corupt police killed my freind Marv. Or what it took 16hours to open his dozer, come on now go to Kremmling and rent a Demo saw it will cut though steel and concrete. Guns in the Cab more bullshit, those ports on the side were for his cameras not for guns, why do the news pictures show guns with scopes, with a hole just big enough for the barrels, what good does a scope do. what good does a gun do if you cannot see what you are shooting at? I think Richard Kramer sums it up the best in his letter to the Manifest this week (06/30/2004): "A History Lesson. History teaches us that those who win/survive any conflict, writhe the history of that conflict. That doesn't make it the truth." If the powers that be in Granby do not hurry up and learn the lesson Marv tried to teach them, they are doomed to have history repeat itself.

Donald, Marvin did something very heroic and he certainly should be honored with a statue right in the middle of The People's City Hall (if there was one). This man was not a coward, what he did was finally expose what the little man commonly faces in the deepness of wicked bureaucracy. He suffered under what was supposed to be the land of the free. The town of Granby would rather collectively benefit just a slight amount, and force a good American to close his business, than think of the good that Marv brought to the town. Marv needed to use the sewage, and the cement plant didnt even let him extend a pipe through their terrirory. What Granby did was betray one of its best citizens for some greenbacks. Democracy works, but in this case, it's more of something like

"Everyone, vote for this! Marv will lose his business and his career, while each of us 1000 good-for-nothing citizens would be able to get a few hundred dollars"

Of course you would expect Marv to lose because the citizens DIDNT HAVE ANY MORALITY. Just a few fuckups who killed one of their most venerable citizens. How many options did the cement plant have? Plenty of good ones. Marv? All very bad choices. Anyways,

Personally he is my hero, standing up for what he though was an injustice, going out of his way to not hurt anyone, and FYI, you shoot a propane tank the size of what he aimed for, or what thye CLAIM he aimed for (the media told many, many lies that day) if he actually was aiming, shooting a propane tank, and in the chance it actually EXPLODED, it wouldn't "level a 4 block area" ... he wrecked the property of those that spited him, and all the repairs should be covered...

Within hours of the start of his adventure we (one of the LARGEST internet communities onm the internet) already had "http://www.killdozer.us" registered (and it will eventually host all kinds of FACTUAL info and pics) ... within a few more hours there were 4 "tribute videos" (the video of his path of REVENGE put to music, the natl anthem and an american flag overlayed over the video of him smashing the buildings of those that smited him, stuff like that... we have 2 people selling tee-shirts with the "killdozer" logo on them along with hates and what not ... then it made a number of websites where people ALSO showed support ...

He was able to punish those that he felt wronged him and unlike what so many people would do today, he didn't pull out a Tek-9 and shoot anyone ... hell, even watching the news it seems the residents of Granby really liked the guy, he was just pushed too far ...

We need more people to go out and killdoze city hall ... who says the little guy can't fight back!

Also, from how I understand the craft was built, he knew he was going to kill himself and never expected to get out alive ...

Yes, that's right. Who killed Marv Heemeyer? Lets look at some facts.... He was single, He was very proud of his work and his muffler shop. Granby councils zoning decisions Killed his business. A single man often treats his life, business and work he does as the love of his life. Who killed the love of his life??? He was amazed that no one caught him in over a year and a half. Who or what killed him 18 months ago?? Do I approve of his act...NO. But I understand his frustrations, and I see government (those PUBLIC SERVANTS) making too many decisions that kill the individual. Granby cries... HELP, and gets a ton of aid. Who is giving aid to Marv H? Who could have done better 18 months ago and prevented all of this. I know... 20/20 hindsight. But the government is supposed to serve ALL of the people, not just those who have the money, political connections etc.

I am sorry for what he did and I do think it was wrong. But I don't feel so bad about it because of the care he had to take proven just by the fact that no one else was hurt. Sure he may have tried to blow a propane tank but only after everyone had time to flee, the only others that would have been hurt if he succeed would have been those that choose to stay and the law enforcment. I think if he intended to kill he would have had a way to blow the tank.
Yes it was his chose to take his life and I understand that, but I would rather lose a home or bussiness than family anyday. Most of my anger in the event that I have taken out on the people of Granby has been from reading what everyone has been saying about a man my family can't even imagine doing something like this, but some of my anger is simply for the question WHY? As far as my family can say this isn't him there was no hint to this posiblity and even if there were he's not the man most could belive would do this. It just goes to show what anger can do to a person. And how someone you may know so well, may be so different.
All I want is for people to just state moving on and stop acting so mad at him for it, it hurts my family to hear so much negitive about who we know as such a good man. People don't have to stop being mad at him, it's just that everything said now can't hurt him it hurts us.

To Marvins Niece, I am truly sorry for your loss, and what you and your family must be going through now. I am sorry for my harsh words, they were inapropriate, but I did not believe you were who you said you were. No one said or implied that Marvin was not a good son, brother or a kind uncle. You are his family, and honor would require no less from you than what you have done, stood up for your uncle. However, to put him on a pedistile and call him a hero like people are doing here, is not right. You are all assuming there was some corrupt government conspiracy against Marvin Heemeyer and that he was standing up for human rights? Who knows, but as of yet,there is no proof and has not been any proof of illegal or corrupt goings on by the city of Granby, its city council or anyone else. He simply lost a legal dispute. Don't you think that if there was some corruption going on Marvin would have writen it all down, sent it to family, friends, heck I would have sent hundreds of copies to all the newpapers and magazines in the country, the states attorney, even the CBI and FBI the morning he did this, so everyone could read the facts. But, the fact is, he lost a legal dispute, had a vendeta and took it out on the whole town. No matter what the circumstances, what he did was wrong. Patrick Brower the owner/editor of the newpaper expressed his opinions and sided agianst Gambling in Grand lake, and supported the move to anex the property that is now the concrete plant which Marvin was aposed to. All newspapers around the country express opinions, whether liberal, republican or whatever, it is our God given right as Americans to have "FREEDOM OF SPEECH" that's all Patrick did, so did Patrick deserve to have his business bulldozed because he expressed an opinion? If you support that behavior, then you are throwing away a basic fundamental of our constitutional rights. On top of that, the building the newpaper was in didn't even belong to the newpaper, but belong to a couple of people that don't even live here, one lives in Wisconsin I believe and the other in Idaho or somewhere. Did they deserve this? Of course not, they didnt have anything to do with this. Not to mention all the tax payers in Colorado who will have to foot the bill for millions of dollars in restoration. As for Marvin being the only casualtie in all this, it was he who chose to take his own life. And for that I pity him, for that is the legacy he has left for himself. One of my favorite quotes is "to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived, that is to have suceeded" "Ralph Waldo Emerson" I have my heroes, my biggest hero is my mother. She is a dual amputie from diabetis, she has 2 prostetic legs and about half use of both hands, and will turn 70 next month. She uses a walker to get around, still cooks 3 meals a day for her and my father, cleans house (with his help), does dishes, laundry, entertains guest and does thanksgiving and Christmas dinner for the family every year. She is always there if someone is in need. In their old 2 story house she would throw the dirty laundy down the stairs, scoot down on her rear, do laundry, then she had a pillow case on a rope hanging over the railing, she would fill the pillow case with clean laundry, scoot back up the stairs, pull the pillow case up and put the laundry away, and never a complaint about how hard life is or why me. That is a hero. When I feel like life is getting me down and I start feeling sorry for myself, I think of her , and pick myself up and get going. She may not make it to that place reserved for heroes, but I bet she gets invited to dine with the angels on occation =) and she is a hero to me. She wanted to help with this, and being a thousand miles away, and not able to lift stone or timber, she still managed to help in a small way, she sent this poem she wrote for the people of granby. And it is suppose to be published in the newspaper. Oh yes, the paper is up and going thanks to the generosity of another paper letting them use their facility.

Granby is a quiet little place
The people are nice and so is the pace
Their ready to help people in need or in pain
With never a thought of money or gain

Just one last thing to think about, if you end up some day in a similar situation, and you win a legal battle against somneone, do you want to be looking over your shoulder everyday, worrying that this guy you beat in court is going to seek retribution, mow down your home or business, or perhaps worse?

This is to the town of Granby Co. GO TO HELL. At least Marvin Heemeyer stood for something. Do you even know what his family has to deal with now. I can understand your viewpoint on this situation DonaldJ. I've seen a major natural disaster disable my town for three weeks which killed a few people, but we moved on stronger and better than before. It is unfortunate that some people and businesses in Granby will suffer more financial stress than they deserved. Your town was damaged, but nobody suffered physically or died, except for Marv. Maybe Marv was greedy financially, but who wouldn't be, if the town government killed his livelyhood, his muffler shop, just to line their own pockets! What a man ! Seriously. He died doing something he enjoyed, his final point about the town's government's B.S. was clearly made, and he was able to show the world what was likely his 'masterpiece' with pride.... which is an amazingly well built and designed beast. When a man has had it "up to here!" with all the bullshit that the corrupt officials dish out, he can do things others may find unreasonable yet are totally justifiable. This man will go down as a folk hero not just in Granby but across the nation. Around 200 years ago people were fed up and took matters into their own hands and its time those government officials who all seem to consider themselves royalty take note.
