Tomorrow there is potential for a major tool score � nothing more yet but�The guy was feeling poorly that Friday so we rescheduled for today. He is 86, has cancer and is expected to live just another couple of months. A master machinist and he wanted to sell off his home shop before he passed. Two friends of mine (both gunsmiths and machinists) and I went over to visit with him. On Wednesday, I will be returning with my trailer to pick up a nice coal forge, about 70 pounds of coal, an anvil, post vice and a very cool bandsaw plus some tooling for the above. I built a propane forge and wanted to get a coal one as the quality of heat is different. The bandsaw will be a welcome addition to the shop. I have a small cheap metal bandsaw and a very large wood bandsaw but since I am doing less and less woodworking, I am looking at selling the large saw and downsizing. This unit is perfect as it has a quick-change gearbox that allows me to switch from wood to metal in a minute or two. Change the speed, wipe down with a rag and change the blade. It is also very easy to clean so if I want to cut some light colored wood, I don't have problems with oil contamination.
