Winter is coming

UPDATE AT END Got our first Winter Storm Warning of the year from NWS:
THE SNOW LEVEL WILL REMAIN AROUND 4000 FEET WHILE MOIST WESTERLY FLOW BRINGS SIGNIFICANT PRECIPITATION THROUGH TUESDAY MORNING. THE FIRST SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL OF THE SEASON WILL CONTINUE OVER THE HIGHER ELEVATION ROADS IN THE CASCADES...MAINLY ABOVE 4000 FEET.

THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF THE NORTH CASCADES HIGHWAY...THE MOUNT BAKER HIGHWAY...AND THE ROADS TO PARADISE AND SUNRISE IN MOUNT RAINIER NATIONAL PARK WILL LIKELY RECEIVE A FOOT OR MORE OF SNOW THIS EVENING THROUGH TUESDAY MORNING.
La Nia and Pacific Decadal Oscillation -- talk about a double whammy. Should be great for business... UPDATE: About an hour after I initially posted this, I ran out to the store for some dinner fixings and was talking with a local who tried to drive up to the end of the Mt. Baker Highway to a place called Artist Point. They have a front-wheel drive family SUV and were not able to get to the top for all the snow and slush on the ground.

I'm not ready for winter! I still need 2-3 days of fishing before ski season starts! But it is storming and the temp is dropping here- the deer hunters got snow in the higher elevations, and I might just have to remove the batteries and cover up the boat until spring. I really wish I could fish until about 1 week before ski season starts!
