Got some groundcover at the native plant sale - Kinnikinnick and Coastal Strawberry. That particular strawberry doesn't really set fruit for people (they are tiny) but it is a pretty plant and the birds love it. The Kinnikinnick is an evergreen and sets pretty pink flowers that turn into red berries in fall. We have some tall plants in a front bed and these will offset them nicely. Also picked up a couple Blue Elderberry canes - I like to make herbal tinctures and want to start an actual herb garden so this will be a great start.
Went over to the mineral and gem show - picked up a gorgeous iron meteorite. 33 grams (the same as six 25¢ coins) so it has a nice heft. Also picked up some nice Arizona native copper. Ran into a bunch of people I knew - it was a fun day.
The clouds burned off around 11:00AM and it turned out to be a gorgeous day - finishing putting Buttercup back together. I wanted to install a 12 volt socket so I didn't have to run a jumper cable every time I wanted to run my sprayer or anything else. Making up the cable and permanently mounting it before I put the front of the hood back on. Do it right.
Nothing planned for this evening - been spending too much time drinking pints of cider so tapering back on that a little bit. $11/night ($4 + $4 + $3 tip) adds up - four grand per year if done every night...
