What the hell? North Korea

Sure, they rattle their swords all the time but this takes it up to eleven. From the South Korean Yonhap News Agency:

Pyongyang ready for pre-emptive nuclear strike: North's dop diplomat
North Korea is ready to launch a pre-emptive nuclear strike in response to what it claims is provocation by South Korea and the U.S., Pyongyang's top diplomat said Monday.

"In response to the US frenzied hysteria for unleashing a nuclear war, we have fully transferred our army from the form of military response to the form of delivering a pre-emptive strike and we state resolutely about the readiness to deliver a pre-emptive nuclear strike," North Korea's Foreign Minister Lee Su-yong said.

"In a word, the Korean peninsula faces the dilemma: a thermonuclear war or peace," he said.

North Korea has recently stepped up its military ante apparently to show off the progress it has made in upgrading its nuclear and missile capabilities as well as in advancing the striking power of its multiple rocket launchers and other long-range artillery systems.

We are a bit between a rock and a hard place on this. We could station a ship in international waters and knock down all of their missile launches - even the 'peaceful' space exploration ones. The only concern is that they might do a Plan B run-around and sneak a dirty bomb into one of our harbors in a shipping container. Making a five mile long radioactive plume in downtown Los Angeles or San Francisco would not be a good thing.

The problem is that these a**holes are being funded by the Chinese and the Arabs. Quietly and under the table of course but still, if you follow the money, this is what is happening. Of course, this current administration will not do anything to anger our bestest buddies in the Middle East and we owe too much money to the Chinese to risk ruffling their feathers so we are screwed.

Thanks Barry - and Hillary and J.F. Kerry - some pretty mad diplomacy skills guys. (SET SARC=OFF)
