We had a great presentation by someone who has worked with Nepalese radio operators and who was instrumental in getting communications in and out of Nepal during their massive 2015 earthquake. He is a member of CAN-USA - the Computer Association of Nepal-USA (CAN-USA), aka Global Nepali Professional Network (GNPN). Here is a PDF of their presentation - some of the before and after photographs are chilling.
Truck is all packed and doing some last minute software editing to make sure my radios are all on the right frequencies. Have to take into account not only Plan A but Plans B through Z if something goes wrong. It is possible to manually program the various channels but a royal pain - there are so few buttons on the front panel and so many options that programming through software and a spreadsheet file is the preferred way to go.
Surf for a bit and then an early bedtime - alarm set for 7:00AM
