My little store carries a lot of things but we have neither the space nor the facilities to do a deli. Lots of times people come in wanting an espresso or a sandwich or something for lunch.
Some friends of mine have a food trailer but are moving out of state and are looking to sell it - there is one couple with dibs on it and they are coming over Wednesday to decide if they want it. If they do not, I am up next. Spent the day in town talking to some people from the County Health Department as well as the state Labor and Industries department so if I do get it, there will be zero problem operating it parked next to the store. There is a convenience store across the street that has a large deli but this store was purchased about a year ago by a Korean couple. Very nice but they have zero clue how to run an American business and they are nickle and diming everything to death. Their lunch meats have a peculiar glisten to them and the bread has a horrible mouth-feel - it turns to paste after a few chews - they are buying the cheapest products they can and charging full market price for crap. Time to blow them out of the water.
My friends are asking a bit more than the trailer is worth but it is turnkey so I would be able to operate it straight out of the box. I'll run it for one year and then either sell it or buy a bigger trailer and keep on with the business. Just what I need - another project...
