Flavors We Could Lose to Climate Change
Climate change is really taking its toll on Mother Earth. Average global temperatures have risen sharply in the past few decades. Warming oceans are melting away the polar ice caps at unprecedented rates. And natural disasters are becoming more frequent and intense.
Just the first paragraph alone - climate change is not taking a toll on Mother Earth. Earth's climate always changes. Temperatures have not risen at all in the last nineteen years (measuring the air temp here). Same thing with ocean temps. Polar ice caps are just fine (within statistical variation) - their coming and going is more a result of winds and ocean currents than temperature anyway. Natural disasters are not more frequent - the big flooding in the South last August? Pales in comparison to the Great Mississippi Flood of 1927. Hurricanes Katrina and Sandy? Pales in comparison to the Galveston disaster of 1900.
It is hard to take these people seriously when they have so many egregious howlers in their opening paragraph.
