Knocking out a few things at the store and then in to the bank.
Our very progressive County Council recently redistricted, consolidating voting in urban Bellingham and giving very little representation to the East County. They are now saying that we are in danger of volcanic lahar mudflows if Mt. Baker erupts and they want to severely limit future development on property out here. Needless to say, that will crash whatever property values we have as anyone who buys a piece of land will not be able to develop it beyond a very strict minimum.
Considering that the magma is cooling down and becoming more and more gassy, the danger is shifting from lahars to pyroclastic explosions similar to Mt. St. Helens in 1980.
There is a meeting at our local elementary school tonight - time to let them know that they represent us. We The People and all that good stuff...
