This is the one that is going to hit all of North America starting with us. Not much precipitation to speak of - some snow tomorrow but that will stop by Monday early morning and it will just get cold for four days or so. The last 24 hours have brought us 0.35" of rain - just perfect for putting a hockey-rink finish on the driveway.
Our local box store finally got some deicer back in stock - I bought five bags of it - some for the store and some for the farm. The driveways are so slick that there are stretches where I can just put the brakes on the truck and it will slowly and gracefully slide ten feet down the driveway. Fortunately, this is just in the tire tracks which have been compressed into ice - as soon as I hit the untrammeled snow, I have traction again. As long as I keep moving, I am fine.
The front entry gate is a different matter - this is all ice and this is where at least one bag of deicer will be going tomorrow morning on my way out for coffee.
