Finding myself to be very lucky indeed. From The Bellingham Herald:
The Latest: About 100,000 remain without power
About 100,000 customers remained without power following a winter storm that swept through the western Washington.
Puget Sound Energy reported about 86,000 customers without electricity as of Monday afternoon and Seattle City Light listed about 10,000.
More than 100 school districts cancelled classes and dozens of flights were cancelled at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport after snow and ice blanketed the Puget Sound area. A winter storm watch was in effect through Monday afternoon.
I am still operting under the assumption that I will lose power sometime today - got a bunch of candles and LED lights out, stocked up the wood bin on the porch so firewood is just a few steps away and have a bunch of bottled water in the kitchen. My well pump has a 30 gallon presssure tank so even without power, I can draw ten gallons or so. Got hay out to the critters - am cold and wet. Heading upstairs to change into something dry and fix some spaghetti and a salad for dinner.
The updated versions of both forecasts show some mixed freezing rain Wednesday with warm rain Thursday and Friday. I'll try taking Buttercup out on the highway tomorrow - out of milk and very low on dried dog food.
