Whatcom County is running an Earthquake Drill April 13th and a bunch of CERT and amateur radio people are participating. When I first heard about this, I checked with my local Fire Department to see if they wanted to participate and the response was very enthusiastic.
We will not be doing the same drill that Bellingham is but we will be going around with our radios looking at a couple "fragile" structures and reporting on potential for damage. A part of this exercise, we will be compiling a fragile infrastructure list for future use by the department and we will build off this for next October's Cascadia Rising drill.
This is going a bit more slowly than I like (Lord, grant me patience and I want it NOW!) but the people in Bellingham will be busy with their drill and this gives us time to scale up our abilities to communicate.
