Life in the workers paradise of Venezuela

Socialism's end game - nothing works. From the Miami Herald:

Venezuela has a bread shortage. The government has decided bakers are the problem.
Facing a bread shortage that is spawning massive lines and souring the national mood, the Venezuelan government is responding this week by detaining bakers and seizing establishments.

In a press release, the National Superintendent for the Defense of Socioeconomic Rights said it had charged four people and temporarily seized two bakeries as the socialist administration accused bakers of being part of a broad “economic war” aimed at destabilizing the country.

In a statement, the government said the bakers had been selling underweight bread and were using price-regulated flour to illegally make specialty items, like sweet rolls and croissants.

Riiiight - someone who bakes a croissant is an enemy of the people. And what is with this "broad “economic war” aimed at destabilizing the country". All I see is a self-inflicted deep wound to the body. The leadership based their whole governance on giving away free shit and now that the country has run out of money, they have no more free shit to give away. Rather than own up to their own stupidity, they point fingers at everyone else.

This is the end game of socialism - when the Nation runs out of other people's money. Very happy that President Trump is in office and cutting our nations budget. Sure, it is going to be unpopular and sure, it will hurt but it will be a lot better in the long run. Better a couple of years of belt tightening than living like Venezuelans for the next 40 years.
