Got to the casino around 5PM and was told that there was a 90 minute wait. Got a text on my phone 60 minutes later so that wasn't bad. Have a good book so parked myself in the bar and nursed a pint of lager.
Dinner was really good. The turkey was a bit overcooked but in a commercial kitchen, you tend towards safety and make sure that the poultry is well above 165°F. It was nicely seasoned and they brined it first. Went through the buffet line three times so feeling quite stuffed - literally. Roast beef (one slice), six slices of turkey, lots of cranberry (fresh made) sauce, a nice sage dressing, some oven roasted brussels sprouts and a little bit of mashed potatoes and gravy. Dessert was hot apple crisp with soft-serve vanilla ice cream and hot caramel sauce. Happy camper.
Feeling a bit drowsy so surf for a bit and then YouTube and bed.
Book? Been reading the Nathaniel Drinkwater series by Richard Woodman - I am on book 4 and there are 14 in the series. They are set in the British Royal Navy of the late 1790's and cover the advancement of Nathaniel Drinkwater from Midshipman to Lieutennant and his advancement. Historical fiction so the major characters, ships and events actually happened. Not as good as Patrick O'Brien but nothing could be as good as him.
