Fun times in D.C. - a three-fer

Things are starting to get interesting:

First - this wonderful editorial at Town Hall:

Why Did the Anti-Trump Conspirators Throw Their Lives Away?
There is an old expression in power politics: If you are going to kill the king, you had better kill the king. This figure of speech in essence means that if a cabal of coup plotters plans to remove an extremely powerful leader of a country, they had better do so with the knowledge that if they fail in their attempt, the retribution they face will be severe, crushing and irredeemable. Those who sought to destroy Donald Trump failed. And they failed spectacularly. Now I believe they are going to face a retribution as deserving as those who would seek to kill a king.  The question that most fascinates me is: Why would this cabal of anti-Trump plotters risk everything - their reputations, their fortunes and possibly even their freedom - to subvert an American presidential election and then a presidency itself?

Why indeed - second, from CNS News:

Ex-DOJ Official: Democrats Should Be 'Quite Worried' About Latest Investigation of the Investigators
The New York Times reports that Attorney General William Barr has assigned John Durham, the United States Attorney in Connecticut (and a Trump appointee) to look into the origins of the FBI's Trump-Russia investigation.

According to the report, Durham "has a history of serving as a special prosecutor investigating potential wrongdoing among national security officials."

Dunham was the lawyer who took down the rogue agents in the Boston FBI office. They were helping convicted mobster Whitey Bulger - excellent pick.
Third, from Tyler at Zero Hedge:

No "Do-Over" On Russia Investigation: White House Tells Nadler To Pound Sand
White House counsel Pat Cipollone wrote in a Wednesday letter to House Judiciary Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) that Congress doesn't get a "do over" of special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia investigation and others conducted by the Justice Department.

Nadler has led recent efforts in the Democratic-controlled House to continue, which are set to include hearings with Mueller himself, along with key witnesses in his investigation.

"Congressional investigations are intended to obtain information to aid in evaluating potential legislation, not to harass political opponents or to pursue an unauthorized 'do-over' of exhaustive law enforcement investigations conducted by the Department of Justice," reads the 12-page letter laying out a legal argument for why Nadler is overstepping his bounds.

Heh - they spent two years and $25.2 million (our dollars paid in taxes) and found nothing. This quote from Albert Einstein comes to mind:
