Had a wonderful couple hours at the fair. Gave a bunch of critters some skritches and wubbies. I miss having them on the farm but this way, I can still get my "fix" and not have to deal with bucking hay in the winter and mucking out the barn every couple of days. Had a strawberry shortcake made with 1/2 of a costco pound cake loaf and strawberries that were cut on site. None of the five gallon tubs of premade frozen berries in heavy syrup. This was the real deal.
They had some displays of old farm equipment and a blacksmith shop.
I really like this event a lot more than the larger country fairs - more accessable and not as packed with people. There were probably about 5-7 thousand people.
Finish off the last of the split pea soup and make another salad for dinner - no time to prep the fava beans. I will do that tomorrow. Up here for a few days as I have some computer work for tomorrow and meetings through Thursday.
