About 50 people in attendence. Light supper, some singing and meditation and then a bonfire. They will be doing one more farmhouse supper as well as an apple-fest next Saturday.
One of the acquisitions we made when Jennifer and I initially purchased the farm in Maple Falls was a large second-hand apple cider press. I think it has found a new home as they are making some incredible cider blends.
They do not do alcohol so are not interested in fermenting any of it but looking to work out a deal where I get a portion of the cider for my own use. They have over 300 apple and pear trees that are about one to three years old and are just coming into production. Wonderful obscure fruits - some really old varieties.
Anyway, early bedtime for me - a bit zoned out by the meditation and the bonfire and need to get up early tomorrow. Pot luck at 1:00PM tomorrow and I brought some of their cider home to braise the smoked pork shoulder. Bringing a couple pounds of pulled pork for sliders.
