Went to The Farmhouse in Mt. Vernon - not known for culinary adventure but they do a decent pot roast and their turkey dinner is pretty good.
Tonight's pot roast had way too much garlic powder on it and it was cheap stuff - lots of sulfurous off-notes. The garlic mashed potatoes came to me at about 70°F and not the 140°+ to be safe to serve. I alerted one of the cooks in the kitchen and they just smiled and thanked me. No panic. No offer for a replacement.
I think I will give that place a few months before I go back there. They have been in business for 40 years so they must be doing something right but not tonight.
Stopped off at my local for two pints of beer and now home. My old air mattress finally gave up the ghost - leaking too much and two of the internal gussets popped when I pressurized it before going to sleep last night. They were in the middle of the mattress so it rocked back and forth. Funny looking. Picked up a new one from Costco today. I will pressurize the old one to destruction and video it next couple of days.
