Did a big batch of lima beans and bacon for the potluck tonight. Ran into someone at coffee - we have always smiled and said hello to each other. She sat down this morning and we chatted for a good 20 minutes - turns out she is going to the potluck as well. Should be an even more fun evening. Asked if she could be my apprentice for blacksmithing.
The house is again awash in allium (but not spem) fragrance. Really like the sous vide technique for bacon too - it rendered out a good two cups (from four pounds) of fat so I can use that for other cooking - great for scrambled eggs for breakfast.
