Arrgh - an exercise in frustration this morning

Stopped at a local Safeway for a sandwich to eat while I waited for my car. They asked what I wanted, I told them and expressly said that I wanted it sliced straight across. They started to slice it diagonally. They cut through the top slice and offered to remake it but I did not want to simply waste the food so told them it was OK, just to re-cut it straight across. They proceeded to slice it lengthwise. In my book, if you are cutting a rectangular shape, straight across is across the minima and lengthwise is across the maxima. Doesn't everyone know this?

Brought the car into the dealership 20 minutes before my scheduled appointment. I was told that it would be 60-90 minutes and that since I was a bit pressed for time, if they could skip the complimentary car wash. After about 90 minutes, I noticed a car a lot like mine sitting in the "out" line in their waiting area. I went back to reading my book and then 20 minutes later, that car was still there. I talked to a service agent and yes, it was mine and they were very sorry, very sorry, very sorry but... To top it off, they had washed it. I could have been getting on with my day 45-60 minutes earlier.

Working in the garage this afternoon getting things to move to the storage unit and then a CERT training session tonight. Getting ready to do the molding and trim around the new flooring.
