Glad that I made the trip. Found a fantastic lumber yard: Martin Lumber & Hardware. The hardware stores and other lumber yards were 110% meh... Located the Graingers store - there used to be one in Bellingham but that closed a few years ago. Great plumbing outlet: Ferguson Plumbing and yes, they do sell to the general public. Some stores like this are wholesale only - have to be licensed before they will sell to you. Looks like I will still be making regular trips to Hardware Sales for the foreseeable future.
Bite to eat, work on the garage for a few hours and then a meeting of the arts group. L has a class later today. Turned into a gorgeous day - lots of sunshine and warm. Have the doors and windows open.
