Looks like mall retailer Victoria's Secret is now pandering to a vocal minority. Welcome to the decent into Social Justice world. From Breitbart:
Victoria’s Secret Launches Transgender, Plus-Sized Campaign In Midst of Coronavirus Pandemic
Victoria’s Secret chose the middle of a worldwide pandemic to launch its spring campaign featuring transgender and plus-sized models. But interested consumers will have to wait as the lingerie brand said this week that it is closing its physical and online stores due to the coronavirus.
The new “Body by Victoria” campaign kicked off this week featuring Brazilian transgender model Valentina Sampaio and two plus-sizes models — Candice Huffine and Solange van Doorn — according to a report from W Magazine. The campaign was photographed by former runway star Helena Christensen.
Again, I have zero problem with people pursuing their sexual fantasies. Absolutely no problem with that. What gets me is that the entire gay population of the entire United States is about 3 or 4%. A room with 100 people will have three or four gay people. Of course, people can move and do - gay people tend to move towards dense urban populations so cities like Seattle or New York, etc... will have significantly larger percentages but overall, again, the population is more than 3% and less than 4% (2000 census).
The percentage of the extremes - transgender, etc. is a small subset of the total gay population so you are probably looking at 0.1% or less of the total US population.
Why are these people getting so much publicity. Why are us normals kowtowing to this fringe group?
Anyway, it will be interesting to follow the fortunes of V.S. Like any other institution, they will get woke and then go broke. This has happened time after time with American Culture (Gillette, Ghostbusters, The Boy Scouts, etc... more here)
