The Chinese Virus is going to really highlight the difference between the well-run and poorly-run cities around the world.
Last night, I was mentioning how New York City Mayor Warren Wilhelm, Jr. Bill DeBlasio was handeling the city and what his own people thought of it (not well). This morning brings news that things are worse - a lot worse.
Here it is in a few headlines:
- Trump declares New York as a major disaster, Sen Schumer rushes to take credit for it
- Cuomo, de Blasio clash over possible shelter-in-place system for NYC
- Donald Trump Dismisses Bill de Blasio: ‘I’m Not Dealing with Him; I’m Dealing with the Governor’
- NY State Declared Major Disaster Area After 56 Coronavirus Deaths — Military is Outlining Plans to Take Over Hotels, Dormitories, Arenas to Treat Patients
And, of course, the narrative must be preserved and promoted:
- Washington Post Publishes Call for End to Live Broadcasts of Trump’s Coronavirus Briefings as Four New Polls Show Majority Approval for President’s Handling of Crisis
- As Trump Approval Soars, Rachel Maddow and Others In Media Call for Blackout of President’s Coronavirus Briefings
And, it is not just New York City - looks like the other major progressive population centers are about to get hit too:
Once this hits the homeless population, watch out. The homeless will catch it and die but all the people who take care of them will catch it as well and during their two or three weeks of asymptomatic walking around, they will spread it the rest of their cohort, their friends and family, fellow grocery shoppers, commuters, etc... What most people are doing now is Kabuki Theater at best. This is going to get a lot worse before it will get better.
