From Sacramento, CA station KCRA:

CA to use hotels to shelter homeless during amid COVID-19 risks
Gov. Gavin Newsom announced his plans at a press conference Saturday evening to shelter the homeless during the COVID-19 outbreak.

There are an estimated 108,000 homeless people in the state of California, according to the governor's office. Newsom said the state has over 2,400 hotel rooms secured, with 1,900 beds alone in San Diego County. Seven counties across the state have beds secured.

"We have made it clear we are prioritizing the most vulnerable Californians. We’ve made clear our most vulnerable Californians include the homeless," Newsom said.

No word as to who will pay the cost of disinfecting the rooms and replacing the copper wiring and plumbing.
