The Man is The State aka the Deep State - from our neighbors to the North - The Toronto Sun:
Ontario's new class system depends on who you work for
The news earlier this month was devastating if not definitive. More than one million Canadians had lost their jobs, more than 3.1 million had seen a job loss or hours reduced. In Ontario, the figure stood at 400,000.
We know that number will only go up when the latest unemployment numbers are released next week. By then we could see one million people or more unemployed in Ontario alone due to COVID-19.
Of course, few of them will be civil servants, at least not provincial civil servants.
And The State takes care of its own:
On Tuesday, I heard from a friend who has worked for years in the charitable sector. Their organization has laid off much of their workforce and those they have been able to keep on have been forced to accept pay cuts. Like in the private sector, the charitable sector doesn’t have an endless money supply to pay people to do nothing.
“I am definitely feeling there are two classes of people emerging here. Those who work for the state and those who don’t,” my friend said.
Two classes, indeed.
Speaking with senior Ontario government sources, it appears the province has yet to lay off a single worker. They didn’t hire for some summer jobs, but that is hardly the same thing.
In the private sector, people have been laid off from day one. Those who have kept their jobs have seen hours cut or wages reduced.
Things are the same in Canada as they are in the United States. All of these petty bureaucrats are unelected, unaccountable and paid with our tax dollars. Much more at the site. A large central government is not what either of our founders intended and the sooner we greatly reduce it, the better off our Nations will be. Not as efficient or adaptable.
