We have had 20+ years of kicking the can down the road when it comes to the tide of drugs flooding into this Nation. President Trump is stopping it here and is stopping it now.

US will increase military presence in the Caribbean to fight drug trafficking funding Maduro
The U.S. is expanding its military presence in the Caribbean to fight drug cartels wanting to take advantage of the coronavirus crisis and to deny funds going to the Nicolás Maduro regime in Venezuela, the Trump administration announced late Wednesday.
“Today the U.S. is launching an enhanced counternarcotics operation in the Western Hemisphere,” President Donald Trump said in the daily news briefing at the White House. “We are deploying additional Navy destroyers, combat ships, aircraft and helicopters, Coast Guards cutters and Air Force surveillance aircraft, doubling our capabilities in the region.”
Secretary of Defense Mark Esper said the additional military forces were sent to the eastern Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. The U.S. Southern Command, based in Doral, Fla., leads the operation, which officially started Wednesday, in partnership with 22 partner countries.

Cocaine trafficking from Venezuela to the United States is soaring, even as the country collapses. And US and other regional officials say it's Venezuela's own military and political elite who are facilitating the passage of drugs in and out of the country on hundreds of tiny, unmarked planes.
Maduro is a thug. He is bad for the people of Venezuela and that Nation will prosper when he and his people are ousted and a regular government is voted in. Venezuela used to export food. They used to be the wealthiest nation in South America. They used to be the cultural star. They have the world's largest known petroleum reserves and they can not feed their own people - they are that corrupt.
Glad to see someone taking care of this now - sooner rather than later.
