Preparedness groups around the world are going to see a major spike in membership - and this is just a wee small taste of what could happen. From the New York Post:
Trump: ‘Complainers’ should have stocked up on supplies before coronavirus crisis
President Trump said Thursday that “complainers” seeking greater amounts of coronavirus medical supplies “should have stocked up” before the crisis.
As cases surge, Trump’s administration deployed supplies from a federal strategic stockpile, used a wartime law to order companies to make masks and ventilators, and is taking donations from abroad.
On Twitter, Trump defended his performance with an attack on unnamed critics.
“Massive amounts of medical supplies, even hospitals and medical centers, are being delivered directly to states and hospitals by the Federal Government,” Trump wrote. “Some have insatiable appetites & are never satisfied (politics?). Remember, we are a backup for them.”
Preparedness is not difficult or expensive - it takes forethought and some research. I go out shopping regularly because I like to people watch, not becuase I am running out of stuff to eat. I am good for three months in that department.
