Shocked De Blasio Says It's 'Unconscionable' That Inmates Freed Over COVID-19 Fears Are Committing More Crimes Upon Release
New York City Mayor Bill De Blasio is just flabbergasted that criminals, upon being released on prison early to keep them from getting sick, might go on to  – and hold your breath here – commit even more crimes.

Following a New York Post report detailing how some criminals released from NYC prisons over COVID-19 concerns have since continued to break the law amid the city’s coronavirus shutdown, De Blasio said it was “unconscionable” that the former inmates would commit more crimes.

“I think it’s unconscionable just on a human level that folks were shown mercy and this is what some of them have done,” De Blasio said during a Monday morning press briefing.

“We do see some recidivism. I have not seen a huge amount, but any amount is obviously troubling,” he said, saying the city was “buckling down” on criminals who’re reoffending during the crisis.

State Supreme Court denies request to release more inmates
A divided state Supreme Court on Thursday swiftly denied a petition that sought the release of thousands of inmates from state prisons to better protect them from contracting COVID-19.

In a 5-4 decision, the court concluded inmates who filed the request failed to show the state was failing to address the COVID-19 risk or that the state’s actions “constitute deliberate indifference.”

Justice Debra Stephens signed the two-paragraph order for the majority. A full opinion is due later.

The dems are using this crisis to ramp up their planks of open borders, empty the prisons (two great sources of Democrat votes), and free government handouts. They have nothing else - no long range ideas, just grab their own power and hold on to it.
