Back home - Thai food was delicious and it was nice to sit by the river, read for a while and enjoy the food and surroundings.
Picked up the Rubbermaid wire shelving hardware from Lowe's and it is going back in a day or two. Got a screaming deal on the shelving itself ($8 for about 40 lineal feet) but it did not come with any of the hardware. Got the hardware for one part of the project and it was over $100 for about $10 worth of stamped and powder-coated sheet metal. I am in the wrong business. Return it when I am back in the area. Plans A, B and C have been assessed and discarded. Plan D it is.
I have a bunch of 3/4" plywood strips from another project - I will rip these into 2" wide strips and use those to hold the shelving to the wall. I have some 3/4" square steel tube and will use that to reinforce the fronts of the shelves. It will be a lot more work to rearrange the spacing on the shelves once they are in but this is not a showstopper at all. Cheap is better than fancy at this point and it will look as good as with the factory hardware, just a bit different.
