Ted Cruz gets haircut at Shelley Luther's Dallas salon after her release from jail
Sen. Ted Cruz made a visit to Salon à la Mode in Dallas for a haircut Friday, the day after the shop's owner, Shelley Luther, was freed by a Gov. Abbott executive order after she had been sent to jail for opening her business early.
It was a show of support from the Texas senator, as well as his first haircut in three months. Luther became emotional at one point during his visit and started to cry.
She told CBS 11 News:
"His family actually called my boyfriend and prayed for him for 20 minutes while I was in jail. To me that's not political ... that's just really nice people reaching out and making sure that our family is OK."
Her treatment was unconscionable. The judge who put her in jail is an Obama appointee. He is up for reelection in November. Door. Ass. Bang.
