And back home - productive day

That heat wave that was forecast materialized like gangbusters - got over 86°F this afternoon. Checked it at the farm just before 1PM and it got hotter as I was there.

Got a lot done but not everything - was planning to bring down a couple of the bigger tools - large (floor standing) drill press and my dual bandsaw (cuts both wood and metal) as well as my good anvil but it was just too hot to want to move 400 pound chunks of metal. Wait until it cools off a bit first. Cleaned out the safe. It held the last of what would have been my gun collection if I had not had that terrible fire / boating accident / robbery / three-year bout of amnesia / fissure opening in the ground and swallowing all of them back in 1984. Guns? Me?

If I did own any guns, I would be planning to sell about half of them and buy two really nice ones (AR platform and a Les Baer 1911). But that is only if I did own any guns. Don't any more...

Unpack some of the van tonight and settle in with a nice cold beer and get some fresh water for Bear. He got a little hot at the farm with all the running around. Too excited to stop for water.

Butcherblock is dry so sand it tomorrow and another coat of polyurethane. Final coat on Tuesday and get it set up. Going to look gorgeous in the music room. Been going with light wood for window trim as well as flooring so a birch counter will fit in just well.  Woo hoo!!! Getting color coordinated in my dotage.
