Went out for coffee after.
I have been involved in a local arts group for the last two years. Camano Island has an unusually high percentage of artists in its population - all of them really wonderful and a huge assortment of visions and media.Being a blacksmith, I fit right in. Joined the Camano Arts Association two years ago (they have over 100 members) and last fall, during the annual elections, I got put in the position of Vice President. I am still busy with closing down my place up north and getting it ready for the market so I figured that I could do this and so far, it has been relatively easy - six hours/month or so (involved in planning an event next year). A week ago, the President (a busy mom and entrepreneur) resigned from her position as she needs to see to her kids education this fall (what with the lockdown) and other reasons. Her business is booming and she does not have the time to fully devote to the organization. Which makes me the President. My 6 hours/month just got expanded to 20-40 hours/month - very do-able but not what I was planning at this time.
This morning's meeting was to transfer all the paperwork over to me and go through everything. There is a board of directors meeting Monday so I need to get ready for that - plan the agenda, get two people lined up for presentations.
The fun never stops...
