Tacos were delicious. I added some crushed pineapple to them - added a nice acid component to the sweetness of the BBQ sauce. Putting a char on the flank steak really brought out the flavor. Good ol' Maillard Reaction working miracles.
Stuffed and plenty left over for two or three more meals.
Tried reconstituting some freeze-dried refried beans from the restaurant supply store - they came out just fine and take up a lot less room in the pantry. Use the tea-kettle to boil some water; add a little and then let it sit before adding any more. Takes a little while to fully rehydrate. Taste and texture are fine for eating with something. A little bit bland on their own.
