FBI Investigating Threats To Federal Buildings In Portland
All federal government buildings in Portland, Oregon have were shut down Friday, after threats targeting the government were intercepted by law enforcement. The FBI is currently investigating the situation in the city, which has been mired in rioting and violence for more than 70 days. Federal law enforcement is currently assessing the extremity of the threat, according to local reports..
Moreover, the Federal Bankruptcy Court and Mark O. Hatfield United States Courthouse was also shut down out of extensive precaution on Friday, as the city continues to struggle with growing rioting and looting.
Catherine Herridge, senior investigative reporter with CBS News, said on Twitter that the threat was non specific “but may involve explosives.”
She quoted the FBI in Portland saying they are “aware of recent reporting regarding the threats made against federal buildings in Portland. We are investigating…”
I bet that the federales have pulled waaay back from these buildings. Publicly.
I bet that these buildings have more surveillance cameras and cell-phone sniffers than any other place in the USA at this moment.
