Nothing much on the internet. Been playing with the critters and puttering around the house. Vaccuum it later this afternoon.
Heading out in a little bit for coffee and hanging out. The usual stuff. Might do a bit of yard sailing. Farmer's market this afternoon and then an art opening at 5PM. Need to make some more nectar for the hummingbird feeders - do that every five days or so. Hungry little buggers.
Processing the tri-tip I picked up at Costco yesterday. I unwrapped it, cut it into portions, salted it and then wrapped it in a paper towel and put it in the fridge on a rack for 24 hours. This draws a lot of the surface moisture out - helps to intensify the flavor. Today, I will dust the excess salt off, grind some pepper, vacuum seal it in a sous-vide bag and freeze them. To cook? Get the portion out of the freezer and put it into the water bath at 135°F for four hours. Sear the surface over a ripping hot charcoal fire. Perfection.
Also assembling a welding table I got a few days ago. My only gripe is that it did not come with casters. Problem solved. When I build my shop next spring, I will pony up for a nice Certiflat table but, since I am working out of the garage in my house, this one will work just fine. Since the garage is a bit small, everything I use is on wheels or casters. Makes the space a lot more efficient.
