A cautionary tale - socialism

It is an interesting thing to see that people who have actually had the pleasure of living in a nation where Socialism is practiced, have absolutley zero desire to return to that form of government.  From Rich Welsh writing at DJHJ Media:

Newly Elected GOP Congresswoman: ‘I grew up in socialistic country’, ‘I saw what happens when it runs out of money. It’s not pretty’
You probably don’t know this, but Indiana’s Victoria Spartz is just one of 17 Republican women just elected to the US House of Representatives. You wouldn’t know that because the mainstream media completely blacked out the fact that so many women were running for Congress as Republicans. Had they been Democrats you can bet the farm that it would have been a top news story throughout the election cycle.

On Monday, Spartz made an appearance on “Fox & Friends” where she told the hosts that she is a suburban woman, a mother of two daughters, who got involved in Republican politics because she knows all too well the evils of socialism, because she grew up under a socialist system, and “I see what happens when it runs out of money. It’s not pretty.”

“Well, I grew up in socialistic country. It actually was socialistic Republic of Ukraine. I saw what happens when it runs out of money. It’s not pretty. And now I came to America 20 years ago with a suitcase, after meeting my husband in a train in Europe, and is he a raised and born Hoosier. And now we’re building socialism, I’m kind of going full circles.

“I can tell you what is going to be next. It’s very sad for me to see that. And that made me as a mother of two daughters, it made me get involved and do something about it, because that’s not very good for our country.”

The people advocating for socialism are either wanna-be tyrants jockeying for power, sociopaths who want to be the "brown shirts" of the tyrants or the low-information voter, the proles who only see the cherry-picked benefits.  These people have no grasp of history and think that this time, magically, it will be different.
