Back home and the lights are on

The island had its power restored over the last couple of hours - the utility will publish an after-action report in a few days and will see what happened there.  For the entire island to go dark must have been something big and probably pretty spectacular to trip a primary breaker at the substation.

Went out for dinner at a new Mexican restaurant - OK but not worth what they are charging. Not planning to go back.

That storm is going to go down in the history books - had the most water on the deck since moving here two years ago. Some big waves. The Pacific Northwest electric utilities each have just a handful of outages - Oregon is the worst with about 300.

Highway 20 closed for the weekend and maybe for the winter - it does around this time of year.

Got the dogs fed, time to surf for a bit.
