Heh... The NFL allowed its players to take a knee and make other political "statements" during the games. They let this happen instead of concentrating on their core competency - playing a good game. (aside: Kaepernick and the others are all second-string players. None of the really good players do such silliness - same thing with that race car driver who found the noose/door pull)
And guess what, their ratings tanked. Now, their advertisers are leaving them - from CNBC:

Budweiser will not be running a commercial during the Super Bowl for the first time in 37 years.
Instead, the Anheuser-Busch InBev beer will use the marketing dollars to support Covid-19 vaccine awareness and access.
Bud is not alone:
Budweiser isn’t the only iconic brand sitting out the game. PepsiCo and Coca-Cola have said they won’t be running in-game ads for their namesake sodas.
