I had first run into this fifteen years ago and wrote about it here: A curious aberration of behaviour...
I looked around and it is still very much "a thing" - a few links:

I have zero problem with people acting out their fantasies and it could be really nice to shed adult responsibilities and regress back to a time when everything was nice and warm and simple. There were many times in my life where it would have been really nice to crawl back into bed and hide out for a couple of years.
I also have to hand it to this community that they are not being politically active. Having to put up with the incessant shrieking and pearl-clutching of the WOKE crowd is bad enough, I can only imagine a bunch of adult toddlers marching on Washington (although I would love to see it on the news).
What is prompting me to write this is curiosity - is there a link between AD/DL and WOKE. They are very dissimilar in their outward actions but there is this desire to return to a simplistic world. A world where all of their needs are taken care of by an all-powerful state (or Mommy). A Utopia (even though utopia have never worked). The only difference I see is the toxic level of narcissism in the WOKE - everyone else needs to know that they are promoting "social justice". Remove the self-aggrandizement and the social justice and you are left with infantilism.
Instead of a raised fist, how about a raised fist holding a baby rattle. We are seeing similar levels of high-level cognition.
