Jerry Pournelle's term for his house but if the shoe fits... Sweet deal on everything. A good scanner. This one is for documents - pass-through only. Not for photographs but it has an ADF (automatic document feeder) so nice for doing business paperwork. The laser printer is an older Ricoh - solid and heavy. Built to last. They used the same engine for their copy machines and this puppy has had just over 30K impressions. Not even warmed up - the print engines usually last 300-500K impressions and then, they can be rebuilt for about $200 in parts. With my projected use, I will be more concerned with the Heat death of the universe than this unit's EOL. I have a couple B&W lasers but was looking for a color unit. Got it.
Quick break for lunch, build the fire back up and finish the dishwasher.
