ALSO: Interesting bit of trivia. I have serious drainage issues at the house here. I knew this going into the project so it is not a surprise. Just a bit of applied engineering that needs to be done. I will be using French Drains for the yard. Run into a sump and discharged through part of an earlier system and into the ocean.
Turns out that the term of art French Drain comes from their inventor: Henry Flagg French who literally wrote the book on farm and land drainage. One of Henry and Anne's four children was the renowned sculptor Daniel Chester French. Daniel's best known work is the statue of Abraham Lincoln in the Washington D.C. Lincoln Memorial.
