Some people will make a news story out of anything

A non-starter from the Washington, DC NBC affiliate:

Elevated Radiation Levels Detected in Neutron Reactor Containment Building at NIST in Maryland
Elevated radiation levels were detected in the containment building of the research neutron reactor at the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Gaithersburg, Maryland, during a restart of the reactor Wednesday morning, according to a spokeswoman.

Several trained radiation workers were exposed to elevated levels and were undergoing standard decontamination and evaluation, a spokeswoman said. Authorities say there is no threat to the public nor to workers on the NIST campus.

In other words, everything happened as it should happen.  The radiation was contained in the... er... Containment Building.  This is the building that was designed to contain any radiation in the event that some was to leak out somewhere. In other news, water is wet, the sun will not rise until around 8:00 AM tomorrow morning so it is dark out and I have finished dinner so my stomach is full.

Must be a slow news day for them. And, before you start going on about how ANY radiation exposure is so bad for you, explore the concept of Hormesis.  You can Google it.  It's a thing.
