Checking out a few things online - found a new (to me anyway) type of abrasive disk at Hardware Sales this afternoon. Abralon by Mirka. Very fine grit bonded to a foam pad. Great for wet sanding. Nice touch of irony that the parent company is from Finland. Finish for finishing. Used a lot in automobile painting. More here: Abralon Pads. Also at Amazon. I bought a couple of each of the finer grits and see how they work with the desktop. Use them instead of wet/dry sandpaper. These might also be really nice for metalworking - especially copper and aluminum.
