Waking up from WOKE - Seattle

Nice to see some common sense prevail.  The kiddies have had the chance to run their little experiment.  It failed as marxism/socialism/communism always does and now, it is time for the adults to pick up the toys off the floor and get on with life. From The Seattle Times:

Recall effort against Seattle City Councilmember Kshama Sawant can move forward, state’s highest court rules
The Washington state Supreme Court on Thursday allowed the recall campaign against Seattle City Councilmember Kshama Sawant to move forward, paving the way for signature-gathering and, potentially, an election this year that could oust Sawant from office.

Recall petitioners now have 180 days to collect more than 10,000 signatures from residents of Sawant’s Council District 3. If they collect the signatures, a recall election — an up-or-down vote on Sawant — would be held, either with the general election in November or by early next year.

It could be the first effort to recall a Seattle City Council member to reach voters. A search of municipal archives by the City Clerk’s office couldn’t find any recall elections for a council member.

Good.  I am seriously inclined to consider socialism as a form of mental illness.  On the face, it seems nice and fuzzy - equality for everyone but the slightest examination will show a profound ignorance of basic economics, governance and human nature.  They fall prey to Marx's big screw-up - they do not realize that capital is fungible. They want to believe that they have the solution and that we are just to dim to see what they see. Actually, they are laboring under a severe delusion and refuse to educate themselves.

300+ comments - here is just one of them:

As a liberal Democrat and lifelong Seattleite I am 100% in support of the recall.  Although I don't disagree with everything Sawant stands for I do disagree 200% with the way she goes about her job.  Time to make Seattle a great city again and the best thing we can do is get this person out of City government!!

Exactly. She is not good for Seattle or its people. She just likes being on the public stage.

A little bit of history was the previous entry in this blog.

I would not record this as a triumph - WA State Flu Season is the next entry in this blog.
