Tonight was the first board meeting with the new president. I was there as the old president but will not be serving on the board of directors in any capacity. Good. I love the people in this organization but the new president's meeting was two hours and forty-five minutes long. I try to keep my meetings to 30 minutes max and I get twitchy if they get to 45 minutes. Start running roughshod over people if they try to bring up non-essential items. Stick to the agenda people.
Again, really great organization and really nice people, different ways to run meetings. I am running the committee for one event but that is it for now. Need to get my own stuff in gear...
When I lived in Boston, I used to work for a place where the boss just loved meetings - these would last 4-5 hours. I was responsible for some of the public displays (this was a public aquarium) so I arranged to be paged 30 minutes into the meeting. I would talk to some poor soul the next day and in 15 minutes, would find out what was decided.
Anyway, quick trot around the internet, some video and bed. Busy day tomorrow and Farm Wednesday and Thursday.
