The Olympic Games - two wonderful events

First, from The Daily Caller:

China Seethes At NBC For Showing ‘Incomplete’ Map Missing Taiwan During Olympic Opening Ceremony
Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials are furious with NBC Universal for showing an “incomplete” map of the country during Friday’s opening ceremony at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

As Chinese athletes entered the Olympic Stadium in Tokyo, the NBC broadcast displayed a map of China that did not include Taiwan or the South China Sea as recognized parts of Chinese territory. The CCP considers both territories to be a rightful part of their country, despite that claim being disputed by various members of the international community.

'Scuse me? Last time I checked, Taiwan was a Sovereign Nation with its own government.  Back off there bubba...

Second - and this is wonderful and about fscking time that someone did this.
From The Jerusalem Post:

Olympics: Moment of silence for Munich massacre victims for the first time
A moment of silence was observed in the opening ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics for the Israeli victims of the 1972 Munich massacre.

During the 1972 Olympics, 11 Israeli athletes and coaches were murdered by eight Palestinian terrorists in Munich.

This is the first time the victims were honored in the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games.

The families of the 11 victims had long asked the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to hold a minute's silence at the opening ceremony, but had until Friday been turned down.

It only took what - 49 years - for someone to offer this basic memorial and remembrance?

Japan is a very classy Nation - wonderful people.
