Talk about tyranny. I thought that Australia had a lot more freedom loving people. The death count from COVID is interesting. Total population (July 2021 estimate) of 25,809,973. Total deaths from COVID of 993. That is 0.00384%
Imagine a crowd of 100,000 people representing the entire population of Australia. Out of that huge crowd, you would have almost four fatalities from COVID. A pittance. A flyspeck.
The total population of Sydney (their largest city) is just under 5,000,000. For comparison, the total population of Seattle is 776,000. The average number of COVID deaths in Sydney will be around 192 people. For the entire epidemic. To compare, the overall murder/homicide rate in Australia is 0.89%. This is 231 times higher than mortality from COVID.
Looking forward to a major change in government in Australia just as much as I am looking forward to it here.
